Turkey reports 6,670 new cases of COVID-19

Turkey on Sunday reported 6,670 new coronavirus cases, including 623 symptomatic patients.

According to the Ministry of Health, the country’s total case exceeded 2.53 million, and the nationwide death toll reached 26,797, with 112 deaths over the past day.

Up to 8,201 more patients in the country won the battle against the virus, bringing the total number of treatments to more than 2.44 million.

More than 30.61 million COVID-19 tests have been performed in Turkey so far, with 129,715 as of Saturday.

The latest figures show that the number of COVID-19 patients in emergency condition fell to 1,317.

On January 14, Turkey launched their major vaccination campaign, starting with health care workers along with top officials to boost public confidence in the vaccines.

Since December last year, Turkey has been issuing invitations on weekends and weekend lockouts to prevent the spread of the virus.

The pandemic has affected more than 2.31 million lives in 192 countries and regions since December 2019.

More than 105.9 million cases have been reported worldwide, with deliveries now exceeding 58.99 million, according to figures compiled by U.S. Johns Hopkins University.

The USA, India and Brazil are still the worst performing countries.
