U.S. President Donald Trump is now scheduled to leave Washington on Start Day next Wednesday after considering leaving Tuesday, a source familiar with the matter said Friday, Reuters news agency reports.
He will be put off by an exit reception at Andrews Joint Base, an acquaintance of the plan said he spoke to the Associated Press on condition of anonymity because Trump’s plans have not been formally announced. Officials are considering a complex incident that would feel like a state visit, with a red carpet, a color guard, a military band and a 21-gun welcome all being discussed.

Trump is the first president to be snatched for the first time in a row since President Andrew Johnson refused to attend Ulysses S Grant’s oath of office in 1869. Vice President Mike Pence will present at Trump’s place.
Trump broke another tradition by officially not accepting the election to Biden, the first to not offer a discount since the primary tradition began in 1896. The president is not has reached out to Biden or been invited to the White House for a meeting before swearing as many others in recent history have done.
Penny, for his part, spoke to Vice President Kamala Harris Thursday, the Associated Press reported, citing two people familiar with the conversation.
