House protesters provide accounts with Trump supporters about the Capitol unrest
U.S. Representative Diana DeGette showed senators accounts of Capitol’s unrest with supporters of former President Donald Trump showing their involvement in Trump’s leadership.
“On January 6, we know who will light the meltdown. Donald Trump called on these insurrectionists to come to the capitol and ‘stop the theft’, “DeGette told the Senate.
“All of those people who have been arrested and charged, they are held accountable,” DeGette said.
“They were invited here. They received an invitation from the president of the United States. “
Spokesman Pelosi says an appeal by Trump’s lawyers has been delayed
Speaker Nancy Pelosi, no. 1 Democrats in those House of Representatives, a claim by President Donald Trump’s defense lawyers said she adhered to the article impeachment until Democrats controlled the Senate.
“It’s a little embarrassing to say that,” Pelosi said.
Instead, the house’s impeachment managers were ready to walk the anti-Trump impeachment article to the Senate on Jan. 13 – the day it passed with the House – but the Senate was not in session.
“We were ready to take them to the Senate. We were told, early in the day, that even if they were not in session, the Senate would receive the article, ”said Pelosi.
“Then the managers who are willing to take over – as they were preparing for that – got a message from the Senate, if it’s not in session you can’t take it over,” she said.
“And so we have to wait until Mitch McConnell decides that the Senate will be in session.”
Senator Hawley says housing managers’ show is’ absurd, offensive ‘
Republican Senator Josh Hawley said in an interview on Fox News television that a demonstration of video evidence by Democratic House managers on Wednesday had been “completely unusual and offensive”.
“What we are looking for is a kangaroo court. It is an illegitimate case. It is illegal, ”Hawley told an interviewee.
“They are trying to pursue a personal political vendetta against a vice president, and in fact against the 74 million people who voted for him,” Hawley said.
Biden: “Some Minds May Change” with Dems impeachment presentation
President Joe Biden, who has tried to avoid direct reference to Trump’s impeachment process, said he watched a news broadcast about Democratic prosecutors’ arguments Wednesday and believes it may that some Republicans were captured by the graphic images of the U.S. Capitol unrest.
Biden told reporters at the White House on Thursday that “he did not watch any of the live listening” but based on the news, “it is my opinion that some minds may change”.
The Republican senator told Trump about the Pence evacuation during riots
Filling a blank key in the U.S. Capitol riot timeline Jan. 6, Republican Senator Tommy Tuberville said he alerted Donald Trump about the evacuation of Mike Pence from the Senate, minutes before Trump fired a real penny tweet important.
“I said ‘Mr. President, they took the vice president out, I have to go.'” Tuberville told Politico Wednesday night about his phone call on Jan. 6 as protesters breaking the Capitol building.
This call was part of Democratic impeachment managers ’testimony, but the details Trump knew about Pence’s threat before he sent the new emergency tweet.
“Mike Pence lacked confidence in what should be done to protect our country and our Constitution,” Trump said on Twitter at 14:24 EST that day.
Penny was pulled out of the Senate chamber nine minutes in advance, according to security photos displayed at Wednesday’s impeachment trial.
