US President Donald Trump (Wednesday) last night pardoned a total of 20 people, including his assistant in the 2016 election campaign, George Papadopoulos. Papadopoulos was convicted of giving false testimony to FBI agents during the investigation into Russian involvement in the 2016 election.
During the investigation against Papadopoulos, prosecutor Robert Mueller called the suspicions against him “serious and serious.” A pardon statement on Trump’s behalf said of the affair that “Muller has discredited many people.”

Another person who was pardoned tonight on behalf of President Trump is attorney Alex van der Zwan, who was also convicted of giving false testimony to investigators in the Russian involvement case in the election. Papadopoulos van der Zwan have so far served part of their prison terms.
Among the other people who were pardoned were a number of contractors convicted of violence and murder in Iraq in 2007. In less than a month, Trump is expected to leave the White House, and his replacement Joe Biden will take office.
