‘It took me by surprise’: Joanna Lumley talks about the time she dressed as Donald Trump’s ex-wife Ivana to kiss the former president
Joanna Lumley has reportedly spent time dressing as Ivana, Donald Trump’s ex-wife, to push Trump at a swanky party – just to make the joke fall flat.
The Absolutely Fabulous star, 74, described the story behind her bizarre encounter with the former US president on The One Show on the BBC on Monday night.
The actress, who played fashion editor Patsy Stone’s scary magazine in the legendary 90s sitcom, explained that her character was in the ‘popular’ show Ivana Trump.

The show’s creator, Jennifer Saunders, thought there was an attractive resemblance between the two women’s hair as Patsy wore a bee-like style of Ivana’s image and fringe in the sitcom.
‘In Ab Fab [sic], Jennifer wrote that Patsy honored Ivana Trump, ‘Joanna said.
‘She was married to Donald at the time and she really liked Patsy and Jennifer thought my hair was like hers.
So this was something that was written in as [a line]: ‘I prefer to watch Ivana Trump’.

The strange meeting between Joanna and Trump took place after his marriage to Ivana ended and he was married to actress Marla Maples – between 1993 and 1999.
The idea of a British socialist, Lady Elizabeth Anson, was the first liquor for Queen Elizabeth, famous for organizing the best and most beautiful concerts in the capital.
