The meeting at Anfield between Liverpool and Manchester United promised a lot – and there is very little. For the first time in a long time, the two giants of English football came to a head-to-head battle with both strong at the top, and naturally the “hype” around the game was at a very high volume. In the end, the two parted ways in a very disappointing 0-0 – a result that mainly serves the team that both Liverpool and United do not really like: Manchester City.
Without a doubt, Liverpool are the ones who should be more worried after those 90 minutes. Jürgen Klopp’s side have closed out a fourth consecutive league game without a win, and in the last three they have also not found the net. One has to go back to March of 2005 to find three consecutive rounds in which Liverpool have not won.
3 – Liverpool have failed to score in three straight @premierleague games for the first time since March 2005, whilst they are only the third different reigning PL champion to do so after Arsenal in 1998-99 & Leicester in 2016-17. Defused. #LIVMNU pic.twitter.com/xgtAZAcCrz

Note the following figure regarding the champion’s drought: Since scoring seven goals from 14 kicks towards the frame against Crystal Palace on 19 December, Liverpool have scored just once in 62 kicks over four rounds. What rabbit will pull out Jurgen Klopp this time to break this drought?
“In the first half our pressure on the ball was great, the transition to attacks was great, but we did not score – and that is the most important thing in football,” he stressed. Klopp Disappointed. “The second half was more open, they had two big chances – and Allison provided two good saves. There’s no easy explanation for our drought. We have to keep working and try to ignore the talk around it. We all want to see goals, but you can’t force it.”
“It’s football. Moments like that happen. You have moments where you can not explain why you are conquering from all angles. In front of Crystal Palace everything ended in a net. It’s a bit annoying that we are now in the opposite situation,” Klopp added about the lack of goals. Jordan Henderson He concluded: “Our ability in the last week does not meet the standards we have set. But we must continue to work and improve. We cannot stop now.”
1.6% – Since scoring with seven of their 14 shots against Crystal Palace (50%), Liverpool have scored just one goal from 62 shots in their last four Premier League games, a conversion rate of 1.6%. Problems. #LIVMNU pic.twitter.com/zStsoHF4zn

At the same time, even the Red Devils can not be overly happy with the point with which they left Manfield. Manchester United have played five games this season against the “greats” of English football – and these are the results: 0: 0 with Liverpool, 0: 0 with Manchester City, 0: 0 with Chelsea, a 1: 0 loss to Arsenal and a disgraceful defeat 6: 1 to Tottenham.
Man Utd’s record against the ‘Big Six’ this season in the Premier League:

Man Utd 0-0 Chelsea

“We missed an opportunity here in light of the many situations we got into, but we have to remember that we played against a very strong opponent,” he tried. Ola-Gunnar Solskjaer Consoling himself, adding: “This is not only the result we are disappointed with, but also part of our performance. I know the guys can play better. We were better towards the end. We started the game not well, we were restless and did not try to force Ourselves on the game. “
Solskjaer found it appropriate to compliment Paul Pogba on his performance: “He was brilliant. We knew he needed to do a defensive job to help us against Andy Robertson, and he was excellent in that part. He deserved to score a winning goal following that performance.”
