The almost 2-minute trailer opens with a scene of Kajol dressed as a confident Odissi dancer in a blue sari and jewelery in one scene and waking up in a panic about being caught by a known person in another view. As asked by a narrator to talk about her life, she goes on to tell about the characters played by the film’s three main actors: Tanvi Azmi, Mithila Palker and herself. She describes the character of Tanvi Nayan as ‘Abhanga’ – a strange genre who was on his way with the pen. She plays her mother in the movie. She describes Mithila Masha’s character as ‘Samabhanga’ – totally fair. She refers to herself as ‘Tribhanga’ – a reference to Odissi dance that is abstract and asymmetrical, yet still deceptive and sensitive.

Kunaal Roy Kapur also plays an important role of Tanvi’s friend in the film. The trailer shows Kajol struggling with her hatred for her mother because it’s because she didn’t feel safe as a child in her own house, and the basic feelings for her after seeing her in hospital .

The film is said to be an exploratory drama about an abusive family of women from three different generations, Tribhanga also features Vaibhav Tatwawaadi and Kanwaljit Singh. It is produced by Ajay Devgn.
