Transgender star Elliot Page has reportedly filed for divorce from their wife Emma Portner, less than two months after the Umbrella Academy actress came out in public.
Elliot, 33, is understood to have filed legal documents in a Manhattan court, according to TMZ, in an attempt to disclose their three-year marriage to the 26-year-old professional dancer, who backed public to her partner’s decision to come out as transgender back in December.
But days after Emma revealed the ‘pride’ about Elliot’s statement, she deleted her Instagram account for a while – although she has since been reactivated. She and Elliot have removed the images of each other from their accounts.

DailyMail.com has reached out to a spokesperson for comments.
Before deleting her account, Emma made a public plea for ‘tolerance and privacy’, and made it clear that her own ‘gender identity, representations, and sexuality’ are ‘private and not for debate’.
Elliot last spoke to the public in a statement shared on their Instagram account on Dec. 20, when the actor thanked their fans for their support over their decision to come out.
‘From the bottom of my heart, thank you,’ wrote Elliot, as they shared an image of themselves standing in a black hoodie and stringed glasses.
‘Your love and support is the greatest gift. Stay safe. Be there for each other. ‘
Emma has shared a handful of posts on her account since reactivating it early in the new year, however, she has not dealt with her relationship with Elliot since December, instead sharing two videos a dance, and two tongue-to-mouth selfies that see her standing potatoes.
Despite removing images of Elliot from her Instagram, Emma still has a copy of a statement coming out of the actress on her account, along with the statement of support and pride that was she shares at the time of her release.

In the post, she wrote: ‘I’m so proud of @elliotpage. Trans, queer and neo-binary people are a gift to this world.
‘I also want patience & privacy [and] that you will be with me to strongly support your life over every day. Elliot’s life is a gift in itself. Stretch on E. sweet Love so much to you. ‘
It is not clear why Emma chose to delete her Instagram account in the days after Elliot came out, however, it was believed at the time that the decision may have come as a result of the hateful comments focused on actor Juno after their statement.
Despite the couple’s divorce news, it may seem that Emma chose to take a step back from the public eye while dealing with her relationship in private.
Elliot and Emma have been together since 2017, and got married at a secret ceremony in early 2018.
