Often games between such teams do not provide too much interest. But tonight (Wednesday) we got a great story in the rematch between Torino and Sassuolo, sponsored by Simona Zaza.
The 29-year-old Italian striker is mostly remembered for following the amusing penalty he kicked at Euro 2016, which made him one of the big jokes on social media. Today he was the hero of Turin, leading his team to a huge turnaround in the closing minutes, from a 2-0 deficit to a 2-3 victory.
Zaza came off the bench in the 72nd minute, when his team was already twice behind Sasuolo at the feet of Domenico Bardi (pair in the 6th and 38th minutes). The striker shrank in the 77th minute, saw Rolando Mandragora equalize in the 87th minute, and then in added time Zaza completed a double and gave his teammates the dramatic victory. These three points jumped Torino above the red line, being one point more than Cagliari in 18th place.
