Tim Cook responds to Facebook attack ads by tweeting about privacy

Apple CEO Tim Cook has tweeted in response to Facebook’s claims that upcoming ad tracking in iOS 14 will be “devastating” for small businesses.

After a Facebook blog post and two newspaper ads saying that Apple ‘s privacy features will continue to harm the internet, Tim Cook has tweeted about Apple’ s position.

While Facebook ‘s public position is that Apple’ s upcoming iOS 14 privacy feature will be “disastrous” for small business, it expects to lose money. Having previously estimated a 50% drop in advertising revenue, it is now forecasting 60%.

Ad Finder is now expected to come to iOS 14 in early 2021. It will mean that users will be notified that an app wants to track their usage, and will ask them to accept or reject .

Separately, Apple’s new privacy leaflets are in the App Store for telling users why their data is being used, before downloading an app.
