Tiger Woods responds to golfers wearing his red Sunday as he recovers from an accident

Tiger Woods appears to be watching some golf on TV as he recovers from last week’s car crash in Los Angeles.

In the finals on Sunday, players in the World-Working Day Golf Championship, Puerto Rico Open and Gainbridge LPGA showed their support for Woods in various ways.

Rory McIlroy, Jason Day, Justin Thomas, Tony Finau, Patrick Reed, Tommy Fleetwood, Scottie Scheffler, Carlos Ortiz, and Cameron Champ shook similar versions of his bright red shirt and black pants. Billy Horschel had carved a “TW” on his hat while Matt Kuchar, Jason Day and Bryson DeChambeau played with golf balls stamped with “TIGER.”

Golfers have backed Tiger

Roddy McIlroy: “This is just a move to let him know that we are thinking about him and we are rooting for him. Of course things look a little better today than they did Tuesday, but it’s still gone. He has greatly recovered. ”

Tony Finau: “We’ve had so many Sundays watching Tiger do his thing. Red and black, we know that’s what Tiger does on Sundays, so to come in and just tell Tiger that we support him in the best way we can. We’re still playing and we miss him out here, but it was cool just to be a part of that today. ”

Sebastian Munoz: “It was an idol for me. He is the reason I played golf today. I just wanted to pay him a small compliment today, just as his life and work have affected my life. ”

Jason Day: “Just honoring Tiger. In fact, we hope for the best by wishing him well, just so he knows we are thinking about him. ”

Justin Thomas: “I think it’s just important for him to feel some kind of support. I think this shows support for him. It’s not something that’s going to happen every week, it’s not something that people do every day, but it really is a very special day for him and what he does. It looked like a great opportunity for people to have a chance to do it. ”
