Actress Melissa McCarthy appears to be on board the team at Thor: Love and Thunder for a cameo role. She gives the character of Hela to look like a stage play in set pictures and may be a call back to the scene in Thor Ragnarok.
McCarthy sporting Hela’s signature green headgear can be seen in the photos and videos that have surfaced online. Luke Hemsworth, dressed in Thor, can be seen standing beside him.
Clearly, Love and Thunder will also feature a play scene like Thor: Ragnarok. In Thor’s third film, Matt Damon, Luke Hemsworth and Sam Neill played Loki, Thor and Odin in a play played on Asgard for Odin’s delight (Loki in a panic).
Thor: Love and Thunder continues with Thunder God Chris Hemsworth. Taika Waititi ‘s managing director Natalie Portman will also return to Jane Foster’ s role and will go on to embrace Thor ‘s fitness by staring at the Mjolnir.
Portman has confirmed that the film will be inspired by the Mighty Thor storyline. Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie, Waititi’s Korg will also return in Thor: Love and Thunder.
Chris Pratt, Karen Gillan, Dave Bautista, Jaimie Alexander, Vin Diesel (by voice), retell the roles of Nebula, Drax, Lady Sif and Groot respectively from earlier MCU films.
Christian Bale, who famously played Batman in Christopher Nolan’s trilogy on the superhero, will star in the film’s sequel Gorr the God Butcher. Thor: The Love and Thunder slate is set to be released on February 11, 2022.
