Why didn’t we catch this after 20 seasons of Keeping up with it and Kardashians (20!). On Monday, host, producer and writer Andy Cohen appeared The Tonight Show by Jimmy Fallon to put the record right on how you pronounce Khloé Kardashian.
“It’s Klo-ay. His name is Khloé, ”he told Jimmy Fallon. “It simply came to our notice then. And so, I went and did interviews with the Kardashians at Khloé’s house. I walked in, I go, ‘Khloé?’ and the other women go, ‘Excuse me?’ And Kris [Jenner] He said, ‘Yes, that’s exactly how it’s pronounced.’ ”
Consider blowing our minds.
Cohen was invited to do interviews with the famous family before the last season of KUWTK. As expected the producer had to take a COVID-19 test before heading to Kardashian’s home, but it was completed through a gate system.
“You reached through all those gates. I had to get a COVID test before I arrived. And I said, ‘Oh you want to give me the results of the COVID test?’ They go, ‘Go to Khloé’ s and if the second gate opens, you are negative. And the gate was open and I was like, ‘Okay, I don’t have COVID. I’m good.'”
This is certainly not the first time the whole world has mispronounced a name. In 2018, Small women actor Timothée Chalamet appeared in an interview with VMan that a name (with the same accent above the ‘e’) is referred to as “Timo-tay”, not “Timo-thy”.
“The real pronunciation is Timo-tay. But I can’t ask people to call me that; it seems awful. ”
“My father is from France, so it’s French spelling, but it seems to be my duty to ask people to send it to me,” Chalamet continued.
And while you keep expanding your vocabulary, we probably recommend the GRAZIA bible in terms of how to pronounce every fashion brand.
