Tonight, too, after midnight Israel time, demonstrators were still on Capitol Hill, and large forces gradually evacuated them during clashes. The forces used tear gas and stun grenades. Shortly afterwards it was announced that the Capitol building was “safe” now. During the night she died from her young wounds which were badly injured in the shooting incident that took place in the Congress building during the riot. The circumstances of this incident are still unclear.

In his speech before midnight, Biden called on Trump to stand up for himself in front of the cameras and urge his supporters to stop the violence and evacuate Congress. Earlier, similar calls were made to Trump by congressional Democrat leaders Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer, and some senior Republicans. Just three hours after the riots began, Trump posted a recorded message on Twitter, a little over a minute old, in which he called on his supporters to “go home in peace.” However, even in it he incorporated agitating statements such as “stole the election from us”, “these are fake elections” and “took it from me”.
“I understand your pain, I know it hurts you,” Trump said in the short video. “We had elections that were stolen from us, there were elections that we won big and everyone knows that, especially the other side; but you have to go home now, we need peace, we need law and order. We do not want anyone to be harmed.”

In the video, Trump went on to convey to his supporters the same messages that caused them to attack Congress in the first place: “This is a difficult time. There has never been such a time when such a thing happens, that they can take it from all of us, from me, from you, from our country,” he said. “It was a fake election, but we must not play into the hands of these people. We need peace. So go home, we love you, you are very special, you see what happens, you see how others are treated, so bad and so evil, I I know how you feel, but go home, go in peace. “
The American television networks were shocked last night by the harsh scenes that came from Washington, and CNN compared the events there to the kind of coup attempts they see in the Third World. According to Washington police, at least 13 people were arrested in the riots, and police confiscated at least five weapons from the protesters. Many more are expected to be arrested later, after the films are checked on the security cameras of the US Legislature.

In the House of Representatives, a confrontation broke out between people inside the hall and demonstrators who knocked on the front door and tried to break in, and during this confrontation, weapons were pulled out. During the events, gunfire was also reported somewhere in the building, and a young woman was seriously injured in the shooting. Later that night, as mentioned, NBC reported that the woman died from her wounds. According to CNN, at least several police officers were injured in the riots, and at least one of them was taken to hospital.
Earlier, when protesters broke through fences outside the Congress building and stormed it, police used tear gas to try to repel them. Members of Congress were asked to remain in place and take the gas masks placed under their seats in case they needed to use them, but were later evacuated from the plenum. Journalists reported that Vice President Pence was taken to a “safe place.” In the shadow of the clashes, the mayor of Washington announced the imposition of a 12-hour curfew in the capital starting at 18:00 local time (01:00 Israel time).
Long before Trump bothered to call on his supporters to evacuate Congress it was his deputy Lantern who issued a scathing message. While Trump contented himself with Twitter posts in which he asked his supporters only not to use violence, Lantern called for those involved to be prosecuted and to exhaust the law with them in full. He called for the violent protest to stop immediately, saying that those involved must leave the building immediately.

About two hours after the riots began, the White House announced that National Guard forces were deployed on Capitol Hill. Earlier, the state of Virginia also announced that it was sending police and soldiers to the capital to help take control of the events. At the same time, a New York Times reporter reported that an explosive device had been found at the Republican Party headquarters and destroyed in a controlled explosion. The paper further reported that the Democratic Party headquarters is evacuating.
Sen. Mitt Romney, one of Trump’s most vocal critics of the Republican Party and who was the party’s candidate for the U.S. presidency in 2012, accused last night that Trump was responsible for this “uprising,” he said. Republican minority leader Kevin McCarthy said their behavior Of the protesters in the “non-American” Capitol and must stop.
Riots in Congress erupted shortly after Trump inflamed thousands of his supporters, and possibly tens of thousands, who had gathered at his request to protest against the results near the White House. In this demonstration, Trump repeatedly pressured his deputy Lantern to take up his official position as director of the congressional session in which the election results are approved in order to have them abolished. Trump has done so even though Pence himself has made it clear to him in recent days that he has no authority to do so.
Trump to his supporters an hour before the riot: “We will not agree to this anymore”
“I hope Mike does the right thing, because if Mike Pence does the right thing – we will win the election,” Trump told the thousands who came to the demonstration. “Mike Pence, I hope you work for our country. If you do not do that, I will be very disappointed in you.” During this demonstration a lot of Trump has bluntly attacked the Democrats, the media and even those Republicans in Congress who intend to recognize Biden’s victory.

Several of the other speakers at a demonstration near the White House last night took advantage of their remarks to threaten Republican lawmakers that any of them who would not sit in tonight’s sitting next to Trump would pay for his seat in the next election. Donald Trump Jr., the president’s son, called on protesters: “This event should send a message to Republicans in Congress – that this is no longer their Republican Party, this is Donald Trump’s Republican Party!” The Alps shouted rhythms: “Fight for Trump! Fight for Trump!”. President Trump himself also argued in his speech, against the background of many Republicans’ intention to allow Biden’s victory confirmation, that “there are many weak Republicans in Congress,” and said that in the next election they should be got rid of.

With the takeover of the Senate, the Democrats complete a takeover of the entire Congress, because they also control the lower house of Congress – the House of Representatives. It will be the first time in a decade that Democrats have controlled both the White House and both houses of Congress, meaning that for at least the next two years, until the next congressional election, it will be much easier for them to advance laws and appointments that serve their agenda.
In the Republican camp there are those who blame Trump for the loss of the two Republican candidates in Georgia, a state that usually tends to the conservative side of the political map and chooses Republicans. Many argue that Trump’s baseless allegations that the November election was falsified caused too many Republicans to give up the vote on the assumption that one way or another their vote would not be counted.
