There will be pressure on seniors for new guidelines following the CDC vaccination

Fully vaccinated Americans can gather with other vaccinated people indoors without a mask or social distance. That’s in line with long-awaited guidance from federal health officials.

It was a welcome change for many who have already been vaccinated.

“I like the new rule, if all your family or friends have had a second look and have waited two weeks, you can now meet in your house without a mask on,” said Candy DeFazio, 70, while bowling green with other seniors in Newport Beach, California. “That’s wonderful.”

Bow player Diana Wenzel was also called up to be able to reunite with the family. “Great relief. Absolutely, yes, we can come together and that’s the main thing, that’s the important thing,” she said.

The proposals were announced Monday. They also say that vaccinated people can come together in the same way as people who are considered at low risk for serious illness, such as in the case of grandparents and vaccines visiting healthy children and grandchildren.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control says a person is considered fully vaccinated two weeks after receiving the last required dose of the vaccine. About 30 million Americans or just about 9% of the U.S. population have been fully vaccinated with federal-authorized COVID-19 vaccine to date.
