As K-drama continues to win global audiences and travel to higher levels, here’s what you need to know about its stellar throw
Over the weekend, Song Joong Ki made a much-anticipated returnVincenzo, An impressive Kv drama tvN under the banner of Netflix Originals.
Recorded, he plays Vincenzo Cassano of Korea-Italy, a lawyer and mafia consigliere who escapes a persistent gang war in Italy, where he was adopted at a young age, to give birth in South Korea. There, he joins fellow sex lawyer Hong Cha Young (Jeon Yeo Bin) and her intern Jang Joon Woo (2 PM’s Taecyeon) to give the conglomerate a taste of the medicine itself.
Vincenzo it got off to a good start, appearing at a national average of 7.7 per cent, the third highest ranking of weekend tvN drama to date. As the story grows as new events drop on Netflix each week, experience the stellar cast and their characters, and find out where you’ve seen them before.

Popular Hallyu star, you may have seen a few of the songs and films of Song Joong Ki. Captain Yoo Si Jin is one of the most famous and deserving positions Descendants of the sun. In Vincenzo, Song Joong Ki’s character is completely different and closer to an anti-hero.
In line with the Italian mafia, Vincenzo Cassano has a questionable philosophy and is not at all sure about using evil tactics to punish evil people. You get access to a different shade of sexy from Song Joong Ki enter Vincenzo, and maybe a little rom-com action too as he falls in love with Jeon Yeo Been’s character, Hong Cha Young.

Vincenzo is Jeon Yeo Been ‘s third play, but has appeared in over 15 films. While she rose to fame after her successful turn in the film After my death, K-drama fans may recognize her from rom-com Bi Melodramatic. Her intriguing portrayal of a woman with post-traumatic stress disorder after her boyfriend passed away proved that she can be a real gameplay in drama as well.
In Vincenzo, Jeon Yeo Been plays lawyer Hong Cha Young who is proud of her ability to win cases. She’s a very strong and confident character, and she’s going to impress you with her little quilts.

Ok Taecyeon is better known for his masculine and allied characters who often fight against malicious characters or even ghosts as in Take it with you, ghost. The 2PM K-pop idol-turned-actor will be able to show off a cuter side of himself through his character Jang Joon Woo in. Vincenzo.
Jang Joon Woo is an insider lawyer who works with Hong Cha Young and is under a lot of pressure (it will be interesting to see if a love triangle follows). It’s a bit clumsy and ditzy, so expect some funny and adorable moments.
Vincenzo and Hong Cha Young face plenty of strong opponents. Among them is the turnaround lawyer Choi Myung Hee, who is represented by Kim Yeo Jin.
Choi Myung Hee ends up becoming a senior partner at law firm Hong Cha Young, but she is not above breaking the law if it means she can -from her goals. While a vicious enemy in this K-drama, Kim Yeo Jin has acted as a warm-hearted character, as the thoughtful police officer Lee Hae Gyeong Extracurricular.
As a teenager, Kwak Dong Yeon usually portrays kind characters as Yeon U Yeong’s friendly and compassionate teaching assistant in My ID is Gangnam Beauty. He also showed a funny and engaging cameo in the big show It’s okay not to be okay.
In Vincenzo, we see a 180-degree turn with his character, Babel Group Leader Jang Han Seo. The head of the assembly is notorious for being a little deceitful and indifferent to winning, and will do anything to get revenge and what he wants, even at the cost of someone’s life.

Completing the group of evil opponents is Han Seung Hyuk, who is the head of the law firm Hong Cha Young working. With strong ties to the accuser and the media, Han Seung Hyuk is accustomed to winning cases for his wealthy clients. He uses disused methods to turn opponents to dust.
Although his character may not be your favorite lawyer inside Vincenzo, actor Cho Han Cheul has played a wide range of roles and you may recognize his poetic-loving character Romance is a bonus book.
The first program of Vincenzo starting on February 20, with new programs on Netflix every Saturday and Sunday until the series ends on April 25, 2021.
