The women’s basketball team of Elitzur Ramla continued tonight (Sunday) in the winning trend after beating Elitzur Holon 61:75 in the away game in the main game of the 15th round of the Athena Wiener League for women. Tomorrow the rest of the games will be played as part of the cycle (first time 19:00).
Elitzur Holon – Elitzur Ramla 75:61 (37:23)
The first quarter was dominated by Shay Kelly from Holon and Tiffany Mitchell from Ramla. It ended at 16:20 for the visitors with 10 points for Kelly versus 7 for Mitchell. From here, Mitchell just warmed up engines and finished the game with 24 points and 9 rebounds while Kelly finished with just 13 points alongside 10 rebounds. In the second quarter, Holon scored only 7 points. Ramla went up to a double-digit lead of 23:37 after 6 consecutive points by Benija Laney and the teams went down to half.
In the third quarter, Holon seemed to return to the game after finishing it in 12:22 to their credit, which allowed them to start the last quarter with only 4 points behind, 49:45, but a great run by Ramla to 16:26 in the last quarter earned it a victory starring Of Tiffany Mitchell and no less of Benija Laney who finished with 17 points and 18 rebounds.
