The Shulmans join Bennett Israel today

Avir Kara, the leader of the Shulmanim movement, announced today (Tuesday) that he has joined Naftali Bennett’s right-wing party. “We have made a decision to join with five representatives in the largest party in my opinion, and to do as much good as possible with the Independents,” Kara told supporters at an event held at Zoom.

“Congratulations to Shulmanim,” Bennett greeted at the same time. “From a big Brock on this day. Right and the Shulmans today is one family. You have come a long way here, and today we are becoming the home of half a million businesses in Israel. My wife and I set up businesses, and I know how difficult it is to start a business in this country,” he added.

“Our goal today is very sharp in this alliance and marriage between the Shulmanim and the right, and is to make this country a paradise for Shulmanim, business owners and entrepreneurs, without the trouble of the state. In the next government we form we need activists, not more politicians,” Bennett noted. “In the last year and a half you – led by this special person called Knight Kara – have raised the issue of business to the agenda. Knight is not a professor, but he comes from the field. I want people to fight like Knight and like you.”

As you may recall, the Shulmanim protest began in August 2019, when Kara and his friends set up a Facebook group joined by hundreds of thousands of independents. Many parties tried to persuade Kara and his comrades to join them in recognition of the electoral power of the movement, which was formed and strengthened in light of its activities during the Corona crisis.

Among the options considered: joining the Likud or Saar’s new hope. “We are examining options and the highest probability is that we will have a party,” Oded Babai, one of the leaders of the protest, said recently. “We conducted polls and found that we had 8-6 seats. We had inquiries from all parties, and of course there was an offer from the Likud, but it was rejected outright because we do not believe them.” Now, Kara has chosen to join Bennett and the right-wing party.

“I call on all members, this entire family: let’s bring a new prime minister here on March 23 with the same energies,” Kara said. He said, “I worked with Bennett during the Corona period, I saw a man imbued with purpose, full of motivation to come and do. Only he cares about the economy, the self-employed and the state.”

“After all the things that have happened here we must continue running a marathon,” Kara explained. “To pass huge reforms you can not use the same existing means and the same old politicians. You can not use the same government. I tell you this as someone who watched it inside and out. We managed to get the next Knesset not to have one Shulman, but Shulmanim.”

Meanwhile, Aviad Ben Sedon, one of the leaders of the Shulmani protest, announced earlier that he had joined the Telam party. Chairman Moshe (Boogie) Ya’alon commented on this in a tweet he published: In our struggle to rehabilitate the economy and address unemployment. “
