AirlineRatings.com maintains records on 385 carriers from around the globe, measuring factors including crashes and adverse events, and the age of their aircraft.
For 2021, the airline’s safety and product analysis website gave the Aussie airline the top spot.

But for 2021, the website has ranked each of the top 20 airlines in numerical order. Qatar Airways takes second place, with Air New Zealand, Singapore Airlines and Emirates rounding out the top five.

Thomas says passengers are even more focused on airline safety because of the pandemic.

Separately, AirlineRatings also showed the cheapest airlines at low price, listing the top 10 in alphabetical order. These are Air Arabia, Allegiant, EasyJet, Frontier, Jetstar Group, Jetblue, Ryanair, Vietjet, Westjet, and Wizz Air.

These are Baltic Air, New Zealand Air, Alaska Airlines, All Nippon Airways, AirAsia, British Airways, Cathay Pacific Airways, Delta Air Lines, Emirates, Etihad Airways, Eva Air, Japan Airlines, Jetblue, KLM, Korean Airlines, Lufthansa, Singapore Airlines, Southwest, Qatar Airways and Westjet.
