Rain was expected to continue through Friday, especially in southern and central Israel, with a high risk of flooding in the region.
The weather was expected to ease on Saturday, with the rain providing clearer temperatures.
The rain will stop early next week as temperatures rise again with a chance of another light wind heat in the middle of the week.
Meanwhile, water levels in the Sea of Galilee have risen by half a centimeter (0.2 inches) over the past 24 hours, standing at 209.635 meters below sea level, the Government Water and Sewerage Authority reported Thursday.
