The Presidential Dogs – now in a book that has become a bestseller

Less than a week has passed since Joe Biden was sworn in as President of the United States, and one of the best-selling books in the country in recent days deals with his presidency of only a few days from a surprising angle – that of his dogs, Major and Champ.

Joy McCallow’s children’s book “Champ and Major: The First Dogs” was prepared in just two weeks, after the author decided to celebrate Biden’s selection for the role in a particularly original way. The book was released on the occasion of Biden’s official entry into the White House, and so does the book – the two dogs arrive at their new home, with Champ, whom the Biden adopted in 2008 and spent time with them during Biden’s tenure as former Vice President Barack Obama, introducing the compound to Major The three-year-old, who was adopted in 2018 From a shelter.

“People are so excited about the change that is taking place. They are excited about the hope and clarity that awaits us, and I think there is nothing more positive than dogs,” said McCallow, who until now used to write books dealing with older and darker topics. “There’s so much darkness in the world right now. It’s very nice to have dogs, or no matter what brings people happiness.”

“Champ and Major’s father, Joe Biden, just got a very important job: he’s about to be the new president of the United States!”, The book describes in its opening. “Champ is excited for his return to the White House, which he visited when his father was vice president, before the family adopted Major, and he knows all there is to know about the important work taking place there. He can’t wait to show Champ the place!”

Ahead of the two dogs’ entry into their new home, White House spokeswoman Jen Pasaki has even promised that the bidders intend to attach a cat to the two during their stay. “The ‘first cat’ will dominate the internet,” she said.
