Found healthy and intact: Galit Tzarfati and her 5-year-old son, who have been missing for the past two weeks, were found today (Friday) in the north of the country. Last night, as the investigation moved to the open phase, police investigators acted on several levels in parallel with the extensive search for the mother and son, during which two women residents of Moshav Kochav Michael were arrested for questioning.
After extensive investigative efforts that lasted through the night, police investigators were able to locate in the north of the country the location of the mother and her son, and a few minutes ago, police officers arrived at the scene and located both healthy and intact.
The two were found in an apartment in the Krayot where older people lived. It is not clear whether the same people who were in the apartment were in the secret of the matter so they were not detained for questioning. The police asked to wait with the decision regarding the extension of the suspects’ detention in light of the finding of the mother and child, and thanked everyone who assisted in the publication and searches.

As you may recall, an investigation has been underway for about two weeks under a restraining order, which concerned the locator of the child, after the court ordered that he be transferred to his father’s custody. The investigation began after a Frenchman, the boy’s mother, did not comply with the order and since then the traces as well as the boy’s traces have disappeared. The police estimated that the boy was probably with her, and hundreds of police officers searched for the two, in one of the localities in the Ashkelon beach area.
After two weeks of pottery searches, the police hastened to revoke the publication ban order in court yesterday, and allow the publication of the very existence of an investigation into the mysterious disappearance of the star resident of Kochav Michael with her son, despite the family court’s decision to hand over the child to his father.
Police said a relative of a Frenchman, in her 30s, was arrested for questioning on suspicion of aiding and abetting kidnapping, conspiracy to commit a crime and obstructing investigative proceedings. Police suspect she helped a mother hide her son. Another relative, about 70 years old, was also arrested for questioning on suspicion of similar offenses.
Meanwhile, the boy’s wife’s wife posted a Facebook post under the name “Breaking the Silence,” in which she shed light on the boy’s relationship with his father and her opinion on the affair.
“I am the father’s wife in the affair, the one who knows him best of all and knows the sweet ‘Noam’ well,” the woman wrote. “First of all I will write that I wish every woman a husband like my husband and especially every child such a father loves and cares. I am happy to raise my daughter with him from a previous marriage at the age of ‘Noam’ and our common son.”
She said that “in recent years my husband has gone through a long and difficult legal process and has not given up in places that many others would have given up.
She later shared her feelings and wrote “It hurts me about what the mother is going through, but so many experts decided that there is no escape from transferring custody to the father and that the mother needs treatment. The relationship between Noam and his father was amazing, pure and real. I saw everything with my own eyes. I hope Galit recovers. “She will take care of bringing Noam to his father. Mother will remain a mother forever. I assure you that Noam will be in the best hands, in a loving home that will take care of strengthening your relationship.”
