It is believed that Uranus (the word that does not grow old) will be located between the Moon and Mars tonight.
According to EarthSky, Mars will pass 1.75 degrees north of Uranus on January 21st. With the Moon also wanting to share the spotlight – it will be a rare place event.
I caught the Uranus and Mars connection tonight. Easy to find between bright red Mars and first quarter moon. Half clear blue! I am excited to continue adding to my list of planets with astro photos and products. : sparkles:#uranus #Astrophotography pic.twitter.com/dFQ8QXAgyQ

So keep an eye out for the moon tonight – it should be pretty easy to find, we rule it most nights.
Then just above it should be Mars and a few hours later another dot will appear which is Uranus.
Well it will be either Uranus or a star, in which case you can pretend …
If you are in the UK, the astrological meeting is said to take place at around 4.43pm, but hopefully the trio will reach their peak at 6.06pm and be visible until 12.36m.
Mars appears very clear but Uranus will be much weaker – you will be able to tell where it is because they will be aligned directly with Uranus between the Moon and Mars.

EarthSky said: “The red planet has gone down in recent months as the Earth has been running ahead of it in the smaller and faster orbit around the sun.
“But Mars still shines on par with the brightest stars in the sky. With clear skies, you shouldn’t have too much trouble looking at Mars as that red ‘star’ close to its the moon.
“On the other hand, Uranus is very slender, more than 150 times weaker than Mars. Uranus is said to be the outermost of the solar planets visible to the naked eye.

“But seeing it with the naked eye requires a very dark sky, and perhaps no moon (certainly no moon nearby).
“The interesting news is that Mars and Uranus are close together on the horizon, so you can see – theoretically – Mars and Uranus in one binocular view for the next week or so, if the moon was not in the the way. “
