The McDonald’s burger gets a sweet twist

Burgers and Oreo cookies are not foods that are usually thought of together, but McDonald’s will release a special and limited edition tomorrow (Monday) of about 400,000 servings of a combination of foods – a hamburger with Oreo cookie icing and vanilla cream inside the cookies. Sounds tempting? You will have to resist, because these burgers will only come out in China.

McDonald’s announced the launch last week on Chinese social network Vivo. Video game analyst Daniel Ahmad tweeted over the weekend with a picture of the new product, which shows the famous bun with two layers of canned meat patties in it – topped with crumbled Oreo cookie and vanilla cream.

In a tweet he posted, Ahmed did not show very many signs of enthusiasm, as he wrote that he was disgusted by the picture: “You should see this too, I do not intend to suffer alone.” It is interesting to note that most respondents to the tweet did not have high hopes for the product. One of them wrote “Sweet mixing with meat? Man, disgusting, it’s really about to fail hugely.” Another surfer wrote that “how the hell can the connection between Oreo cookies and hamburger work together? It sure will be disgusting on other levels.” Another surfer noted that it is similar to a donut sandwich, which KFC released earlier this year.

As mentioned, the unique dish is currently expected to be released only in China – but it is possible that if the buzz around it is positive and the demand for it is high, it will also be distributed outside the closed country.
