In a letter sent by Energy Minister Yuval Steinitz to the Rosh HaAyin municipality, he wrote that the decision “means that instead of building 7-8 new power plants in the coming years, the State of Israel will need only one or two and they will be built as close to or near existing stations.” The minister’s remarks led senior municipal officials, including Mayor Shalom Ben Moshe, to declare the power plant’s final archiving after a lengthy struggle in cooperation with the Kfar Qassem municipality.
