The Land Rover Defender 2022 gets a V8 engine

The British Defender receives a number of improvements in honor of the model year 2022, with a variety of off-road and road systems, including a new engine

The engine takes the P525 version of the Defender 90 from standstill to 100 km / h in 5.2 seconds, while the 110 version does so in 5.4 seconds. The maximum speed of both versions is 240 km / h. In the process of developing the new version considerable attention has been paid to the sound engineering of the engine, in order to provide a rich V8 soundtrack. As with the rest of the Defenders, the power is transferred to the field with the help of a planetary gearbox made by ZF with 8 transmission ratios and a transmission with a power transmission (LOW) in a transmission ratio of 2.93: 1.

The addition of the V8 version now increases the total power units of the Defender.
The diesel refuelers are offered 3 light hybrid diesel units (MHEV), 6-cylinder with a volume of 3 liters, with 200, 250 and 300 horsepower.
The petrol engine is marketed in Israel with the 3-liter engine with MHEV technology with a power of 400 horsepower. Another petrol model is the P400e, which offers 404 horsepower and 65 kg of rechargeable hybrid electric power unit (PHEV), with an electric range of 43 km.
This engine is expected to arrive towards the third quarter.

The renewed Defender has made advanced technological updates with connectivity, SOTA updates to vehicle management systems, entertainment and audio systems and advanced safety systems.
Along with the fundamental architecture change between the classic and current Defender (moving from a ladder chassis to a unified chassis), the Defender has received new off-road systems that have been developed in recent decades. At the top of these systems is Terrain Response II – Land Rover’s advanced terrain management system, which adapts the behavior of vehicle assemblies to the type and conditions of the terrain. In the current generation, an automatic mode was added and the option to characterize management modes according to the customer’s wishes.

Defender continues to be a rugged SUV thanks to systems such as power transmission that can be combined while moving and air suspension, with the help of which the ventral spacing can be changed with a height of up to 14.5 cm compared to ventral height in normal driving mode and lowered by 4 cm for car entry comfort.

Defender is offered to customers in two lengths (model 90 with 3 doors and model 110 with 5 doors) and can be adapted to diverse needs and desires with the help of a catalog of accessories.

It will be possible to bring the vehicle to Israel by special order in the third quarter of 2021.
