The Israeli vaccination campaign is hitting South Park

The world-famous coronavirus vaccination campaign in Israel is now recognized by the satirical South Park animated series, in a one-off program that began Wednesday night.

In the second special program presented by the show about pandemic, the program focused on vaccines, anti-vaxxers and QAnon conspiracy theories.

In one scene, a long queue of people with a face mask is waiting to enter a restaurant, while a security guard stops them from doing so due to coronavirus restrictions.

“You know, in Israel they vaccinate everyone. Israel is much colder than this barrier,” said one of the respondents, to whom the security guard response: “Then go to Israel.”

The man replied: “I tried but I couldn’t get in.”

In a later scene, a plane belonging to the fictional airline “Air Israel” (with a logo very similar to the national flag carrier El Al) is seen vaccinating all South Park adults.

A muscular, bearded man with a tank top throws boxes of vaccines at the villagers and everyone rejoices while the music of the Middle East plays in the background.

South Park residents are then seen voluntarily embroidering with the vaccines.

In a tweet, Israeli Ambassador to the US Gilad Erdan boldly tagged NBC’s Saturday Night Live network, saying: “Here’s how to make a comedy spread when it comes to Israel. Watch and learn from South Park.”

Erdan was referring to the apparently an anti-Semitic joke made at a recent Saturday Night Live program, in which Michael Che accused Israel of not vaccinating suspects.
