2020 was the year that carriers around the world began lighting up their 5G networks for the first time and despite pressures such as a worldwide pandemic, demand increased for cell technology largely as many companies sought to change or improve their business models overnight to keep the doors open during the global health crisis. This meant that business was being done in remote or newly connected areas for the first time, including the curb line and parking lots. While early adoption around 5G was based on consumer play, the choice of next-generation cellular connectivity is becoming even more important for businesses.

In fact, digital transformation has been spurred by years for some businesses, and 5G will lead that growth even further, according to a group of operators who shared their views on innovation 5G at CES 2021.
