The incentives were awarded to the medal winners at the European and World Championships in 2020 in a very limited format, capsular by industry, in accordance with the Corona guidelines. The total incentives for 2020 for athletes and coaches amounted to more than one million shekels.

The year 2020 was one of the most successful years for Israeli athletes at the European and World Championships, despite the cancellation of many competitions during the year due to the corona crisis, including in the leading disciplines in Olympic movement such as athletics and swimming. In 2020, the “Year of the Corona”, Israeli athletes won 14 medals at the European Championships and one medal at the World Championships. At the European Championships, Israeli athletes won five gold medals (record number), four silver medals and five bronze medals. At the World Championships, Israel won one bronze medal.

The incentives for the winners were given by the Minister of Culture and Sports, Hili Trooper, and the Chairman of the Israel Olympic Committee, Yigal Carmi.
