The government has approved: Kobi Shabtai will be appointed acting commissioner for six months – or until a permanent appointment

The government today (Friday) approved the appointment of Chief of Staff Kobi Shabtai as Deputy Commissioner of Police and the appointment of Gondar Katie Perry as Deputy Commissioner of the Prison Service.

Senior officials attacked Kobi Shabtai’s non-appointment as permanent commissioner, telling Israel Today that a commissioner must be appointed immediately: “The organization is in a difficult situation, and further negotiations for an unknown period of time are a fatal blow to the police and the rule of law. Put politics aside and work for the good of the country. “

Earlier today, Homeland Security Minister Amir Ohana raised the approval of the appointments to the Telephone Authority meeting. The appointments were raised in accordance with the recommendation of the Senior Appointments Advisory Committee that this week approved the appointments of the two. “Unfortunately, this is a parity government in which a blue-and-white bloc needs to approve issues on the government’s agenda, and such approval is not given by them,” Ohana said.

“Therefore, I have to present you with an alternative proposal by consent, appointing the two as deputy heads of organizations, in the belief and hope that in the near future blue and white consent will be given to complete permanent appointments to the two security bodies, which have been begging for more than two years.”

He served as commander of the Iron Station and later commanded two areas, and since February 2016 he has served as commander of the border. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a master’s degree in education.

Perry, 56, is married and a mother of three. A. This was before she was appointed to the senior position of Southern District Headquarters – Perry was the first woman to hold this position. She is a graduate of the National Security College, and holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Islamic and Middle Eastern studies alongside an additional master’s degree in political science.
