Former acting defense secretary Christopher Miller has come forward denying he is one of Donald Trump’s ‘hatchet men’ – and he blames Jan. 6th speech to cause Capitol unrest.

Miller, whose group has caught fire for delays in blasting National Guard forces to the Capitol when he was attacked, says he is ‘convinced’ that Trump’s speech was inspired by the events of the day. He briefly stops saying that Trump knew what his words would lead to, where he persuaded supporters to fight as hell. ‘

‘Would anyone have marched on the Capitol, and tried to get past the Capitol, without the president’s speech? I think it’s pretty certain that wouldn’t have happened, ‘said Miller.

‘It seems to be a cause and effect,’ he told Vice on Showtime.

The question is, did he know he was forcing people to do that? I don’t know, ‘Miller said.

Miller took the interview from inside a church. A clip featuring dramatic music as he described Jan’s events. 6th. It was taken after Trump fired Defense Secretary Mark Esper just days after the election.

This was one of many steps in which some Trump critics speculated about the president’s intentions as he tried to reverse the election.

Miller says a military coup was never threatened.

The head of the DC National Guard and former U.S. Police Capitol chief confirmed problems in forcing the Pentagon to sign a rip off of the Guard to the Capitol after a violent move began fighting the police, with a delay that lasted more than three hours.

Miller’s subordinates had made phone calls to a group where officers said the Pentagon had raised concerns about the ‘optics’ sent by the Guard to protect the Capitol.

Maj. Gen. William Walker of the DC Guard testified to the Senate earlier this month: ‘At 1:49 pm I received a frantic message from the then U.S. Capitol Police Chief, Steven Sund, where he told me that the Capitol’s security margin was breached by hostile insurgents, ‘

Commander Sund said, his voice cracking with emotion, that Capitol Hill was in a real crisis and called for immediate help from as many Guards as I could muster. ‘

‘Immediately after the 1:49 pm call by Commander Sund, I alerted the Chief of Army of the request,’ Walker says in written evidence. ‘The approval for the final request of Chief Sund from the Acting Secretary of Defense and sent to me by the Army Commanders General would come at 5:08 pm – 3 hours and 19 minutes later.’

Miller replied in the interview: ‘It comes back to understanding how the weapon works – this is not a video game, no. ‘

He rejected claims about Trump’s military maneuvering moves to bring in loyalists in the final weeks of his term.

‘There was a lot of concern that we were just some kind of Trump hatchet men coming in to do big things for the Department of Defense, which couldn’t be further from the truth,’ he said. . He also said he would have resigned before making any illegal orders.

‘I knew I was not going to cross any of those lines, and if I asked him, I would retire,’ he said. ‘If it is abusive to the Constitution or the Military Justice Dress Code, it is an illegal order and you will not follow it.’

Trump was acquitted in the Senate of ‘inciting terrorism’ during an impeachment trial following the MAGA riots.
