The National Sports Council has postponed its meeting on the criteria for the support funds that were supposed to be met today (Wednesday). Following preliminary discussions last night that led to disagreement, a dramatic decision was made to postpone for two weeks the discussion on the recommendations regarding the new outline because of the simulation revealed on ONE.

In the last day, senior officials in Israeli sports sat down and discussed the various criteria for the support money, in preliminary discussions, at the end of which it was revealed that the disputes cannot be mediated and no compromises can be reached. Israeli sports bodies opposed changes in the support funds and demanded a simulation to be carried out by an external accountant, when the proposal to provide protections for budgets was also rejected.

It has recently been revealed to sports bodies that the division between Olympic and non-Olympic disciplines has also been surprisingly removed and contrary to what has been agreed, so that the criteria can not even be passed at the level of principle in a council vote. In addition, a council member noted: “We understand that it is impossible to point this out without a simulation done by a controlled external body. Only after the external simulation will we understand whether the information standards hurt our goals or not, and then we can vote accordingly. ”

A senior official in the Ministry of Culture and Sports said that the hearing was postponed for redeployment and agreed upon by all parties, so that there would be enough time to prepare with an accurate simulation brought by an external accountant and discussed by the council.

A senior Israeli sports official said after the postponement of the meeting and the great drama that took place during the night that “there is an intention to file a complaint to the State Comptroller’s Office on alleged suspicion of bribery of certain unions in the form of benefits worth millions of dollars.”
