The ‘Diablo 2’ rewrite comes from a visual stand, included with a blizzard

Yesterday, it was announced that Vicarious Visions, one of Activision ‘s most promising small studios, was gaining full acceptance by Blizzard and is now fully focused on working on their projects. .

This news has been met with contempt from those who have been keeping an eye on the work of Vicarious Visions for a while now, as they have been a bright spot in Activision’s rather dingy roster for so long, with responsibility for the big return of Crash Bandicoot, the brilliant remake of Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 and 2, and Destiny fans know how essential they were in rendering content and the PC port for that game before Bungie parted ways with Activision.

In short, they seem to have deserved better than being stuck on Blizzard as a support studio. So what’s going on here?

Maybe this is more about Blizzard ‘s problems then it’ s a little deliberate to Vicarious Visions. Bloomberg reports that Vicarious Visions is now working on a Diablo 2 remake for Blizzard as their flagship project, something that has long been said to be in the works.

They are actually replacing Team 1 within Blizzard, which has been rolled out and rolled out in other areas. Team 1 was working on Heroes of the Storm and Starcraft 2, which are now effectively Blizzard ‘s dead projects, and were also called Warcraft 3: Reforged, the infamous infamous remaster, although the new report this says that again regulation was pushing for an accelerated timetable for that release, which seems to be the root of the issues.

As for Vicarious Visions, I believe I have a lot more belief in the quality of Diablo 2 remaster quality than I would be without them. And we seem to be heading for a weird scenario where both Diablo Immortal, the mobile game, and the Diablo 2 remaster are to be released before Diablo 4 arrives here, which still appearing years out.

But I think the main point is that, after all the work that Vicarious Visions has done for Activision over the years, they deserved better than being a perma-Blizzard support studio and perhaps projects and IPs should be given their own. While Blizzard ‘s similarity has been out lately, this may be the desperate bloodshed they need. As for how Vicarious Visions feels about this, we have no idea, as the developer has not tweeted since the news was first reported in GameIndustry.biz yesterday.

Like all Blizzard projects, we don’t currently have a timeline for a Diablo 2 remake, which VV has already been working on for a while. The same goes for the full release of Diablo Immortal, now in alpha, Diablo 4 or Overwatch 2. Blizzard has been pretty quiet in general for a long time now. Maybe with Vicarious Visions on board, that will start to change, we can hope.
