The detention of suspects involved in the murder on Road 6 has been extended

The Rishon Lezion Magistrate’s Court today (Tuesday) extended for eight days the detention of the four suspects involved in the murder of 15-year-old Omar Abu-Saluk yesterday on Road 6, and in the fatal injury of a member of his family. The four deny any connection to the incident, and their details and details of the investigation have been banned from publication.

The investigation into the murder at the Nachshonim interchange, as well as the murder that took place yesterday morning in Lod of Salman Azberga and led to the tragic chain of events, was entrusted to members of the Central District Police Central Unit, who arrested the suspects in the last day. Their detention was extended after the court ruled that there was a fear of disrupting investigative proceedings.

Police investigators link the two incidents to the long bloody conflict between the two clans, noting that the murder on Highway 6 is a violent response and blood feud to the murder that took place in Lod.

Recall that 50-year-old Salman Azberga was shot dead in Lod on the night between Monday and Tuesday. In response, a 15-year-old boy, Omar Abu-Saluk, was killed and a 19-year-old relative was fatally wounded in a shooting at a vehicle traveling on Route 6.

The police also decided to reinforce hundreds of policemen in Lod, including Border Police and YSM personnel, in an attempt to put an end to the ongoing violence in the city. The main concern is from further acts of revenge.
