The sports halls company, which operates the stadiums and halls in Tel Aviv, today (Tuesday) sent a warning letter before a lawsuit to the Football Association and the league director. The reason: The company claims that the artist Moshe Peretz rented the stadium for a performance this coming Saturday night, when at the time the date of the Tel Aviv derby between Maccabi and Hapoel was not set by the manager.
When the principal announced on Monday that the game would take place on Saturday, it was not possible to change Peretz’s appearance date. Ramzi Gabay, chairman of the sports halls company, spoke with the principal and she referred him to the Football Association. Oren Hasson, chairman of the association, told Gabay that he agreed to the request of Willy Rotensteiner, the coach of the Israeli national team, to end the regular league on Saturday, so that the players could come to the national team’s training camp.
Meanwhile, Moshe Peretz’s representatives are threatening a huge tort claim if his show is canceled in favor of the derby. If and when such a claim is received, the sports halls intend to defend in a third-party lawsuit against the principal and the association.
