The COVID-19 revolution at Edmundston, NB, an old home has been officially announced as over

FREDERICTON – Public Health officials in New Brunswick say a revolution of COVID-19 at a nursing home in Edmundston, NB, has been brought under control.

Department officials say in a press release that the uprising began on January 20 at Le Pavillon Le Royer, following a confirmed COVID-19 case at the facility.

In all, the uprising was only one case, and a press release states that the facility’s staff and residents were re-tested several times to confirm that there was no leakage.

The province also reported seven new cases of COVID-19 today, with one case in Moncton of a person under 20 years of age.

The new cases involve someone in their 50s in the Fredericton area, and five cases in the Edmundston area, including two in their 20s, one person in their 40s, one person in the 60s of them and one person in their 80s.

There have been a total of 20 virus-related deaths across the province, and the number of active cases is 203.

There are seven patients in the hospital, and two in intensive care.
