The Ministry of Health announced this morning (Tuesday) that 8,261 people in Israel were diagnosed in Corona yesterday. This increased the number of people diagnosed to 655,001, of whom 71,618 were active patients. In total, more than 92,000 tests were performed yesterday, and the positive rate is 9.2% – a lower figure than Sunday, when the positive rate was 9.7.

In hospitals across the country, 1,807 corona patients are hospitalized, with 1,094 in critical condition, of whom 316 patients are connected to respirators. The death toll in Israel since the outbreak is 4,816. The number of medical staff in isolation stands at 2,529, of whom 169 are physicians and 623 are brothers and sisters.
Health Minister Yuli (Yoel) Edelstein this morning referred to the vaccinators’ data: “Almost 5,000,000 vaccine doses have been given to date in Israel (first dose + second dose). Yesterday, 117,000 people were vaccinated, of which 34,000 were vaccinated with the second vaccine.”
He said, “We will defeat the virus because we are doing the best vaccination operation in the world, but the mutations force us to stay in quarantine a little longer. I know it is difficult but it is necessary.”
