The consumer price index rose by 0.3% in February – financial consumerism

The Central Bureau of Statistics reports that the consumer price index rose by 0.3% in February 2021. Significant price increases were recorded in the items of fresh fruit 5.7%, clothing 1.2% and transportation 0.7%. Significant price decreases were recorded in the section on fresh vegetables 1.9% and footwear 1.7%.

Since the beginning of the year, the consumer price index has risen by 0.2% and in the last twelve months (February 2021 compared to February 2020), the consumer price index has remained unchanged.

Change in housing market prices (not part of the consumer price index):
Comparing the prices of transactions made in December 2020 – January 2021 compared to the prices of transactions made in November 2020 – December 2020, it was found that apartment prices rose by 0.9%, thus completing an increase of 4.3% compared to the same period last year (December 2019 – January 2020).

In the segmentation of changes in housing prices by district in the months December 2020 – January 2021, compared with the months November 2020 – December 2020, price increases were found in all districts: North 1.6%, Tel Aviv 1.3%, Haifa 1.1%, South 0.8%, Jerusalem and Central 0.3%, all one.

In the segmentation of changes in housing prices by districts compared to the corresponding period last year, December 2020 – January 2021 compared to December 2019 – January 2020, price increases were recorded in all districts: North 6%, Tel Aviv 5.2%, Center 3.5%, South 3.4%, Jerusalem 3.2% and Haifa 1.7%.

Prices for new apartments rose by 1.2%
In the price index of new dwellings, it was found that their prices increased in December 2020 – January 2021 compared with November 2020 – December 2020 by 1.2%, thus completing an increase of 3.3% compared to the corresponding period last year (December 2019 – January 2020). The percentage of transactions carried out with government support and participated in the calculation is 30.6%, compared with 31.5% in the previous period (November 2020 – December 2020).
