The checkpoints return: The night curfew on Purim takes effect

Country under curfew: The night curfew of Purim takes effect tonight (Thursday), and will last until the night between Thursday and Sunday. The following are the restrictions approved by the government:

Police said 24 checkpoints will be set up across the country during curfew hours. They will operate on the interurban arteries leading to the cities, which will create a sequence of blockages between the urban and interurban space. This is the map of the checkpoints:

Commissioner Kobi Shabtai noted in a public briefing that he instructed the Investigations and Intelligence Division to open criminal cases against those who would organize illicit gatherings, including for pirate reasons.

Public transport activity under curfew: Tonight long-distance public transport will end its activity at 20:00. Urban public transport will continue to operate at 75% of the number of seats,

Tomorrow, public, urban and intercity transportation will operate, in a regular format and with a limited occupancy of 75%, on the regular schedules.

On Saturday night, urban public transportation will operate as a series, with no intercity public transportation activity.

On Sunday, public, urban and intercity transportation is again expected to operate on a regular basis and with 75% occupancy throughout the country.

Israeli train stations all over the country will close to passenger entry at 20:00, and will reopen on Sunday morning.

No decision has yet been made on public transportation to and from Jerusalem on Sunday.
