The cabinet meeting is over: we will continue to take action against kite terrorism

The meeting of the security political cabinet has ended. The yeshiva, which convened against the backdrop of the tense situation in the south, dealt with Israeli measures against Hamas attacks both by launching Qassams and mortar shells and by the kite terror that erupted in the months leading to the burning of dozens of dunams in the south of the country.

At the meeting, it was decided that the policy against the terror of kites and incendiary balloons would continue and the IDF would take a hard line against the terrorist elements working against Israel.

At the cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said: “During Shabbat, we hit Hamas significantly and severely. Our policy is clear – whoever hits us, we hit it with great force. This is what we did yesterday. The IDF inflicted the hardest blow on Hamas since Tzuk Eitan. . I hope they picked up the message, if not, they will pick it up later. “

Regarding reports of a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, Netanyahu said: “I have heard people say that Israel has agreed to a ceasefire that will allow the kite and balloon fire to continue – this is not true. We are not prepared to accept any attacks against us and we will respond accordingly.”

Education Minister Naftali Bennett said: “For three months we have been witnessing the terrorism of about a thousand explosive balloons and incendiary fire on residents of the Gaza Strip. In recent days alone, residents of the south have absorbed about 200 rockets. At a convenient time, Hamas dictates a ceasefire.”

Bennett clarified: “A ceasefire without a ceasefire is not a deterrent – it is a surrender. I and the Minister of Justice will oppose in the cabinet any ceasefire that allows Hamas to re-arm itself and continue to launch fire balloons at southern residents. It is time to act.”

Minister Israel Katz: Said: “Defense Minister Lieberman must bring to the cabinet a proposal for a clear policy with Gaza: the dismantling of Hamas and the elimination of terrorism, or inseparability from any civilian responsibility and the creation of a border line with complete deterrence – as with Syria and Lebanon. This is unfair to the residents of the Gaza Strip and harms the security of the State of Israel. “
