The British court has ruled that the founder of WikiLeaks will not be extradited to the United States

The British court ruled today (Monday) that WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange will not be extradited to the United States. Extradite him to the U.S., according to her, for fear he might commit suicide.

The prosecution in the United States has updated that it will appeal the decision. Assange’s lawyer, Edward Fitzgerald, said he would sign bail for him, according to the appeal.

As is well known, WikiLeaks is a website established in 2007, which presents information leaked to the site’s system anonymously, despite restrictions on censorship, security classification or protection of privacy. Particularly memorable is the disclosure of thousands of documents leaked from the CIA, including all of the organization’s digital hacking capabilities and its digital weapons.

Assange was arrested in April 2019 while at the Ecuadorian embassy in London. The Australian journalist entered the embassy in 2012 after being released on bail, following a complaint of sexual assault filed against him in Sweden. At the time, Assange claimed that if he was extradited to Sweden, he could be arrested for disclosing hundreds of thousands of diplomatic documents on his website.

Also, the activist who worked with Assange, Chelsea Manning was sentenced to 35 years in prison for leaking information, and harming American national security. During her imprisonment, she underwent a sex change and was released after just eight years, when former U.S. President Barack Obama shortened her sentence.
