Disney is still trying to figure out how to get back to routine with the slow opening of U.S. theaters. The company has announced a new distribution strategy for seven major films, including “the black Widow” (Black Widow) by Marvel.

The two most anticipated Disney movies, “The Black Widow” and“Crowella” (Cruella) will now go live on the Disney Plus streaming platform as well. While Crowella will do so on its original release date, May 28, the Black Widow will have to wait one more time. The film, which was supposed to be released in May, has now been postponed to July 9.

Disney has decided to upload the two movies for home viewing using the premium method, meaning a fee of $ 30 in addition to the subscription fee for the platform. This is similar to the way the film was distributed “Mulan” (Mulan) last year, and not as they uploaded the film “soul” Pixar (Soul) which was available for free to subscribers.

Following the rejection of “The Black Widow,” Marvel was forced to reject the film as well “Shang-chi and the legend of the 10 rings” (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) which is scheduled for July and will now air on September 3rd. Disney is currently planning to release the film in theaters only.

Meanwhile in the Pixar segment, Disney has chosen to completely skip the cinematic distribution of the company’s next film, “Luca” (Luca). The film will go up for viewing on Disney Plus on June 18 at no extra charge.

As for the fate of four more films that Disney inherited when purchasing the “20th Century Fox” studio – these are still planned to go to the cinema only and not for home viewing, but have also had their release dates postponed. “Release Guy” (Free Guy) starring Ryan Reynolds will now air on August 13th. “Kings Man: The Beginning” (The King’s Man) will be released on December 22nd. The thriller “Deep Water” Am Ben Affleck will arrive on January 14, 2022. Finally, “Death on the Nile” (Death on the Nile) with Gal Gadot will be postponed to February 11, 2022.

Overall it seems that Disney is not going for a tidy show like they did at Warner Bros. Studios, which decided in advance that all of their films this year would go up in theaters and home viewing on HBO Max. Disney chooses to explore the right path for each and every movie, a strategy that can confuse viewers who will have to follow the decisions and rejections that change every few months.

Meanwhile, it is precisely the Disney television world that is enjoying great success. After impressive viewing figures from the first series of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, “Wanda Vision” (WandaVision), this week won the launch episode of “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” (The Falcon and the Winter Soldier) for viewing data even larger than the opening episode of The Mandalorian (The Mandalorian). The next Marvel series will air in June, “Loki” (Loki), which will surely break the record once again, as it is the most popular Marvel character to date to be shown in a TV series.
