The big winner: 0: 4 to City over Palace

Beginning of an article

Even before the big meeting at Anfield between Liverpool and Manchester United, one game tonight (Sunday) in the 19th round of the English league came to an end. Tottenham, who are in a less good period, received a rival in the invitation in the form of Sheffield United, and returned to the winning track with a comfortable 1: 3 away.

Manchester City – Crystal Palace 0: 4
A few hours after Liverpool and Manchester United parted ways in a zero-sum and disappointing draw at Anfield, the Blues did their part and took advantage of the rivals’ loss of points to the top. Thanks to the victory, Pep Guardiola’s team rose to second place in the table with 35 points compared to 37 of the city rival, but also with one game in hand.

City, who came away with a seven-game winning streak, took the lead in the 26th minute when Kevin de Bruyne cooked John Stones’ first. This was the 100th cooking of the Belgian midfielder in the club uniform. In the second half, Ilkai Gonduan doubled the lead (56), before the Stones completed a double and closed out an interest in the 68th minute. These were the brake’s first two Premier League goals in the team uniform. Two minutes before the whistle, Raheem Sterling joined the celebration and set the final score.

Sheffield United – Tottenham 3: 1
Not so long ago Jose Mourinho’s side led the Premier League table, but in the last six games (not including this one against Sheffield) they have won just once and lost height. Faced with the table lock, which achieved its debut victory of the season about a week ago, the Roosters did not have too much trouble getting the color back a bit.

Only 5 minutes of football were enough for Serge Uriah to put the visitors in the lead, after Yong-min Sun’s cooking. In the 40th minute Harry Kane nailed the second with a sharp kick to the corner from 18 meters. Sheffield dreamed of a comeback when David McGoldrick shrank with a superb strike (59), but Tangoy Andumballa returned it to the ground just three minutes later with an extraordinary goal – thus actually setting the final score.

With the victory, Tottenham qualified at least temporarily for fourth place with 33 points. Sheffield continues to carry the entire league on its back with just 5 points in 19 rounds, and the distance from a safe shore already stands at 11 points.
