The Biden administration admits: Obama failed against Iran

The announcement by new US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken has one clear goal: to prepare the ground for a new nuclear deal with Iran. The innovation is aimed at reaching a “longer and stronger” one, he says, but in fact it is a covert declaration of failure of the first version from 2015.

The Biden government’s message has two main target audiences: America’s allies in Europe, such as Britain and France, as well as the other signatories to the JCPOA, an agreement that former President Donald Trump left in 2018.

A not-so-in-depth scan of the series of recent U.S. appointments raises another sign that makes it clear beyond a shadow of a doubt where America is headed against the ayatollahs in Iran. All presidential officials are former Obama officials. However, Israel is wasting no time preparing itself for a variety of scenarios. The possibility that the chief of staff announced in a sharp and clear voice during his last speech: the military option against Iran.

It is likely that the mad run of Biden and his people will be interpreted as a weakness in the Islamic Republic, which in turn will try to blackmail them as much as possible without time pressure. After all, they will continue to approach the bomb, and if along the way the “great devil” can be humiliated, it is better.

After some very significant blows in the last year (the assassination of Quds Force Commander of the Revolutionary Guards Qassem Suleimani in January 2020 and the assassination of Iranian nuclear leader Muhsin Fahrizadeh in November last year) the regime and supreme leader will not rush to trust the West again.

Iran’s leaders also need to take care of the internal situation, which is also in a very explosive state due to the economic crisis and mainly because of the corona virus that is raging in the country.

The Iranian Ministry of Defense is trying in its typical way to send signals to Washington: During Monday, local television broadcast another experimental launch, this time of a missile known as the “Zoligana”. Its purpose they claim there is scientific and civilian use, just like their nuclear program.

The US administration should act more quietly, lest it repeat the mistakes of the first agreement.

When Blink was asked last night about the issue of American prisoners being held hostage in Iran, he said: “Regardless of any agreement, these Americans need to be released. Point.”
