The actor reveals how far that Mandalorian SPOILER surprise took
Warning: this article discusses the main Mandalorian villain for the end of season 2.
Star Wars generally pretty good at keeping surprises, though Am Mandalorian overall, not so much this season. Probably because they had issues with timely merchandising for Grogu’s first hidden season, most cameos dropped out prematurely. Before one season 2 show aired, we knew basically about Cobb Vanth (Timothy Olyphant), Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison), Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson) and Bo-Katan Kryze (Katee Sackhoff). But there was one big man that no one let go of.
As can be seen last season, Luke Skywalker returned heavily alongside R2-D2, featuring digital disinfection. Obviously, that kind of special effect will take a while. A stunt player made the move, and Mark Hamill performed the face and voice action. It is possible, therefore, that none of the actors knew what the final effect would be. Today, however, Hamill himself revealed just how long the process took.
The fact that we were able to keep my interest a secret for over a year with no leaks is less than a miracle. A real benefit to spoiler haters everywhere!#LooseLipsSinkStarships #STFU pic.twitter.com/TOBqlXYyHN

While shouting against spoilers, the Jedi master could not resist posting an ad yesterday:
Have you seen anything good on TV lately?

Toy companies may also have been a source for some of the other leaks, as Hasbro clearly had a ready-made Bo-Katan action figure, as well as Funko Pop from Grogu eating Frog Lady eggs. But they also recently rehearsed Jedi Luke as part of a The Jedi return wave, which is like a very convenient time. We may be expecting to hear more about Luke ‘s program on Monday, when Lucasfilm usually discusses the detractors’ fair game.
What do you think of Hamill’s involvement? Let us know in comments.
