Tesla’s redesigned Model S moves automatically by measuring

Tesla’s redesigned Model S and redesigned Model X cars automatically move between the park, rear, neutral and drive (or PRND) by “measuring”.

There will be an option to change driving modes on the touchscreen, but CEO Elon Musk made the case for automatic switching on Twitter late Wednesday night.

“There will be no more stalks. A car controls driving direction based on the obstacles it sees, context & nav map. You can go over a touchscreen,” Musk tweeted.

“After driving without using a PRND stalk / stick for a few days, it becomes weird to go back & use a move!” He added. An internal Tesla document obtained by Electrek expands, slightly, what Musk means by “estimates” – the vehicle uses its Autopilot sensors to automatically test and select proposed driving modes. and the election, according to a report in The Verge.

The general idea behind the decision fits into Tesla’s most widely accepted Silicon Valley philosophy, however, about “freezing.” The impact of trying to automate PRND is clear until people start delivering these new cars, which are expected to happen in a few weeks, the report said.

The Tesla Model S was updated with a completely new interior on Wednesday, and the most radical change is the new yoke-style steering wheel.

The removal of the PRND strike that the Model S and Model X previously featured is part of a wider review of the interior design of these vehicles, the report said.Tesla has blacked out its circular steering wheel out for a U-shaped man. Roadshow reports have already drawn the interest of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the federal safety regulator for motor vehicles, he said.

The electric car maker is expected to embark on its journey in India with the best-selling Model 3, ahead of the top Model S and Model X, which would be available later per annum and early 2022.

Reaching India through Tesla Motors Amsterdam which offers electric car manufacturers tax benefits related to share payments and capital gains, the Model 3 can start from around Rs 60 lakh.

The standard Standard Range Plus model now claims a driving range of 423 km per charge, while the Model 3 Long Range can give you a range of 568 km at a single cost.
