Terror in flight: Passengers were attacked – the plane was diverted from its course

A United Airlines flight was forced to land halfway after one of the passengers went berserk and bit another passenger in the ear in an unusual incident. According to Fox News, Flight 728, which took off last Friday from Newark, New Jersey, to Miami, made an emergency landing in Charleston, South Carolina, after a passenger became very agitated during the flight and went wild.

According to the report, the passenger went to the bathroom and then returned to his seat returning to the bag above his seat what appeared to be a medicine. Then, when the passenger sat down, he started screaming and raving. The passenger sitting next to him tried to grab the man’s hands so as not to get hurt but it broke his glasses and bit his ear.

The man also attacked two other people who were in the area and apparently broke the nose of one of them. After the crew took control of the raging passenger, a doctor who was on the flight injected a Bendril sedative. Meanwhile, the pilot reported the situation and the plane was directed to an emergency landing at Charleston.

A police force boarding the plane found the man handcuffed to the floor as crew used the plane’s seat belts to hold him in his arms and legs. A quick search of the man led to the finding of 1.5 grams of methamphetamine.

Following the discovery of the drug, the police also arrested the man on the grounds of possession and distribution of a prohibited substance. It was later revealed that the detainee is a New Jersey resident named John Yorkowitz. His lawyer told Fox News that “this is an unusual event and not typical of my client who is a family man, a father and an exemplary husband.”
