It’s a rare film that can weave in comedy around death. Sanya Malhotra Pagglait’s Netflix comedy is trying the genre which is very difficult, as revealed by her teaser.
Pagglait teaser puts it inside a toilet in a small Indian city as it deals a huge loss. The young son of the house is dead, leaving his wife a few months behind. The short teaser follows the widow, played by Sanya, who was married for just five months. She is expected to be in mourning but she does not feel that way. She remembers an incident when she lost her cat as a child and could not be treated. “Ab aisa kuch nahi ho raha hai (nothing like that happens now),” she tells a terrible friend. Sanya seems to be very impressive in this role.

Speaking about Pagglait, Sanya said in a statement, “I am so happy to announce this film which is very close to my heart on my special day. I narrate the role of Sandhya, a very different character from what I have shown on the previous screen. Pagglait was definitely my Pagglait trip – and I can’t wait for the world to see this special story soon. ”
Sanya has previously made a mark in films like Dangal, Badhaai Ho, Shakuntala Devi and was recently seen in Ludo at Anurag Basu. Pagglait was written and directed by Umesh Bist. The film also features Sayani Gupta, Ashutosh Rana, Raghubir Yadav, Sheeba Chaddha, Meghna Malik, Rajesh Tailang, among others.
Producers Ekta Kapoor and Guneet Monga, known for making films aimed at resilient but flawed women who rebel against stereotypes, are collaborating for this campaign.
Pagglait aired on Netflix on March 26th.
