Taco Bell’s parent, Yum Brands, gets a digital ordering business

said Wednesday it has acquired Tictuk Technologies, a global ordering and marketing platform that uses social media and chat channels like WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger to reach customers. Yum has used Tictuk in 900 KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell restaurants in 35 countries outside the U.S. Financial details have not been released. Yum says digital industry by 2020 jumped 45% to $ 17 billion higher. Earlier this month, Yum entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Kvantum, a consumer vision and marketing company that uses a platform based on artificial intelligence. That contract is expected to close in the first quarter of 2021. The two contracts, Yum says, are a cash-strapped investment that will have an “irregular impact” on the 2021 financial results.
