Suspected murder: A 30-year-old man was shot dead in the castle

The death of a 30-year-old man was determined this evening (Saturday), at Meir Hospital in Kfar Saba. The man was taken to hospital in critical condition after being wounded by gunfire in the castle. Police have opened an investigation into the incident, which turned into a homicide investigation after the injured man’s death.

According to the data of the struggle of the Abraham Initiatives, since the beginning of the year, 24 people from the Arab sector have been murdered in circumstances of violence and crime: 18 of them citizens of the State of Israel and six others who are not. 14 of the murdered were under the age of 30. In addition, according to the data, in 20 of the cases the murder was done using a firearm, and in three cases it was involved in the shooting of police officers.

Last Tuesday, a 14-year-old man was shot dead, and a 12-year-old was seriously injured in a shooting incident in Jaljulia. Following the incident, many from Arab society came out to demonstrate against the continuation of violence in Arab society. Mayor Darwish Rabbi even said that “there is no value to the police, there is no rule.”

According to him, the Israeli government is not doing anything about the violence in the Arab sector, when more than 20 people have been murdered since the beginning of 2021. “The situation is dismal, people are angry. They say they have made a decision to eradicate violence in the sector, but there are no actual results,” Rabbi concluded.
